ROBERT MACKEY: PRESIDENT & MUSIC PRODUCER

ROBERT MACKEY: PRESIDENT & MUSIC PRODUCER

Robert is a fan of all kinds of music...period.

Oh yeah... he also happens to be an American singer/songwriter, music producer and a BMI music publisher. While based in Chicago, he does spend musical time in LA, Nashville and Atlanta.

Mackey heads up the multimedia studio SONGWERKS in the western suburbs of Chicago. He co-wrote the title track to the rock band AVM's album "A Matter of Time" with GRAMMY award winning songwriter JIM PETERIK (SURVIVOR - Eye Of The Tiger and 38 SPECIAL - Hold On Loosely). He's worked closely with GRAMMY award winner and Country Music Hall of Famer, the late JOE SOUTH (Hush, Rose Garden, Games People Play). South thought highly of Mackey, playing on AVM's modern remake of HUSH in Atlanta while also appearing in the opening of the song's music video. He granted Mackey an extremely rare 'one on one' TV interview. It turned out that interview was the only and last TV/Video interview South had done in over 20 years! More on this soon...

His latest single with his rock band AVM called "I'm Not Crying Over You" was written and produced by Mackey and mixed by GRAMMY award winning mixing legend DAVE PENSADO (Michael Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Pink) and mastered by GENE GRIMALDI (Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepson).

Mackey performed lead vocals, played guitars, bass, keyboards and percussion while writing, arranging and producing most of the songs and music for several of the rock band AVM’s full length albums, including "It's Tonight", 'Maxi-Singles' and “A Matter of Time.” He has produced diverse Artists such as AMANDA BROMMEL (Pop Rock), MAGISTY (Alternative Hip Hop),  AVM (Modern Symphonic Rock) and shared the stage with international rock acts such as Kansas, Cheap Trick, Loverboy, Survivor and Carl Palmer (ELP).

His main writing instruments are his voice, piano and guitar. He also plays bass, keyboards and drums. Mackey maintains a feverishly busy schedule writing commercial jingles, songs and music for film while producing new artists of various and diverse genres and recently worked with a Tony Award winning Broadway actress KAREN ZIEMBA on an audio book for SIMON and SCHUSTER.

He's done some acting, under the IMDB name Robert A. Mackey, he appears as Max in the 2009 feature length alien-vampire movie "La Femme Vampir" by writer/director Alexander Alcarese starring Veronica Grey, Joe Estevez and Robert Z'dar. In 2015, he will make an appearance as a Mob Guy in the feature length film "Precious Mettle" starring Paul Sorvino, (GoodFellas) Fiona Dourif (Curse of Chucky) and Matt Bushell (Twilight). Currently, Mackey is writing songs and music for several upcoming movie projects.
